Why Wait Until Sunday?

It’s that time of year again!

Have you placed your bets? Not on the winning team, but on who will have the best Super Bowl commercials?
Last year the big “winners” around here were Volkswagen, Chrysler, Doritos and Bridgestone, but we are very anxious to see who comes up with the best creative for Super Bowl XLVI.

In some cases, we don’t have to wait to start our judging! Honda has already released its “Ferris Bueller” spot with Matthew Broderick and Acura‘s spot featuring Jerry Seinfeld has also hit the web. Locally, a Chevy commercial is getting a lot of buzz since it was created by a 26-year-old filmmaker from Merrick who won a contest that got his creativity featured during the big game.

Does this take away from the “magic” of Super Bowl Sunday commercial watching? Is the roughly $3.5 million cost to air a 30-second TV spot really about buying the rights to call a commercial a “Super Bowl Ad?”

What do you think? (And let us know if you have any early favorites, too!)
