When you were 10 years old, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Believe it or not, I wanted to be an artist or involved in something creative. I wanted to be an art teacher, then a graphic designer, then interior designer/decorator, and eventually got my license to be a hairstylist and makeup artist. I was never dead-set on one particular field, but always knew it would be somewhere that my creativity can flow and be celebrated.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?
“It’s all about perspective.” It’s my life mantra and I live by it. If something troubles me, I will repeat that in my head over and over. Whether it’s putting yourself in someone else’s shoes or looking at a problem in a different light, it boils down to perspective.
What’s your favorite part of being the chief coordinator?
Being the chief coordinator, I tend to wear many hats. I get to be involved with all the departments and know the ins and outs of the day-to-day at AW. I love that it’s not just a receptionist role and that I get to branch off and focus my efforts and expertise on not only reception duties, but client-facing opportunities too. My day is never the same and it’s one of the things I love most about it. I genuinely enjoy being the “office go-to,” whether it’s for office supplies that need ordering, travel plans that need booking, luncheons to be prepared, or if our printers need an issue resolved—I’m there! It’s definitely an important role that I take seriously and love!
What’s your go-to happy hour order?
It depends what mood I’m in. I usually go with either a Blue Moon (must have an orange slice) or a margarita on the rocks with a salt rim.
What’s the weirdest thing on your desk?
I don’t know if you would consider it weird or awesome, but I have my essential oil diffuser right next to me. Have a migraine? Let’s diffuse some peppermint oil. Need a jolt to your productivity? I’ve got you covered with some orange and lemon oils.
