Chief Experience Officer

Luis Hernandez

When he’s not traveling or whipping up something exotic in the kitchen, Chief Experience Officer Luis likes to look at the big picture and help clients understand their website users’ journeys from beginning to end, while cooking up tasty user experiences that deliver results.

Any hidden talents?

Cooking. It’s relaxing, a great opportunity to be creative, and comes with the satisfaction of seeing people’s reactions when they take that first bite. There’s no more rewarding experience for me than that.

What do you like about working at an agency?

There’s nothing that I enjoy more than being able to work with a variety of different clients and challenges. I also have past experience in the agency world that I can tap into to start with a blueprint of what works, and what doesn’t. It’s also an industry where the rapid pace of change ensures that you’re always learning something new, whether it’s a new technology or longer-term trends in consumer behavior.

What’s best idea you’ve ever had?

Well, aside from joining the team at Austin Williams, and marrying my wife, it has to be when I decided to live outside of the US in the early 2000s, and again during this past year. Nothing gives you a better sense of perspective than being outside of your comfort zone—literally and figuratively—and seeing things from a few thousand miles away. As someone who’s proudly bicultural, having a home outside the US is also a great way to stay connected to the people and culture that made me who I am.

Name your top five desert island movies.

Rollerball (1975), The Godfather, The Empire Strikes Back, Kingdom of Heaven, and Blade Runner.
